Antarctic Love Story (Blizzard Arc) is the ninth episode of A Place Further Than the Universe.
Synopsis[]
The girls practice jumping rope. Toshio Zaizen asks them for relationship advice, which inspires the girls to interview Gin Tōdō about her love life. Shirase winds up having an intimate conversation with Gin about Takako, while the others listen in from the deck below. Several flashbacks show Shirase growing up, and her relationship with Gin and Takako.
The ship reaches pack ice, and goes into icebreaker mode. When they reach their destination, the girls disembark in Antarctica. Shirase vents her feelings about everyone who doubted that she would get here.
Trivia[]
- When the girls disembark, Kanae reminds them to stay within 5 meters. This refers to a general rule for visitors to Antarctica that they stay 5 meters away from wildlife.[1] If a bird approaches a person, then it's okay to let that happen, but not to pet them or handle them.
