This is Chapter 7 in Volume 2 of A Place Further Than the Universe manga.
Summary[]
Gin Todou reflects upon the expedition three years ago. Takako had enough enthusiasm for them both. In the end, Gin was left calling for Takako on the radio from the snowcat.
The girls have arrived in Fremantle, and busy themselves making news reports, which is their role. As they interview the expedition crew, they overhear concerns, and talk of a secret plan. They bring it to leader Kanae, who speaks to them at length about how everyone was particularly zealous during the previous expedition, and of how badly it turned out.
At the farewell party, the high-school girls are introduced to the rest of the crew.
